Over the past two weeks, the year 11 students have been completing their BTEC Home Cooking Skills exam (we call it our “Practical Fun Session” because exam sounds too sombre). This year, the students are independently preparing and cooking a “Burger to Order” using at least three fresh ingredients in the burger filling.

They selected a “guest” (a lucky member of staff) who completed a Burger Order form with their selections.

The burgers made were either falafel, halloumi or beef, and the fillings ranged from lettuce, grated carrot, cucumber, pickles, beetroot, avocado, tomatoes and mushrooms.

The students have performed exceptionally well this week, we are so very proud of them, and here is some of the feedback the students received from the staff they cooked for.
