11B Class News

This week in 11B, we have been learning about Black History and the contributions that black people have made to the UK over the years-We learnt about the influential athletes, musicians and politicians.

We have taken part in two workshops in which we learned more about the way in which black people’s contributions were played down or ignored just because of the colour of their skin and have learnt about how people have had to fight just to be heard.

As part of our Laser learning accreditation, we have also learned about how to keep ourselves safe when at home and out in the community. We have role played making an emergency call based on an emergency situation and considered the best way we can respond to an emergency taking into consideration our own safety and the people involved.

In Food Technology, we have been learning about different West Indian spices and used these to make delicious soups with celeriac and sweet potato.
