We as governors have been busy this half term, carrying out visits and completing training.
It has been wonderful being able to get back into classrooms. Vicki enjoyed a visit to Sunflower 2 class, where she saw a lovely sensory story about autumn. Liz has carried out visits within Key Stage 4, where they were learning all about Recycling and Hilary has been busy getting to know Sensory Class. April also enjoyed a visit to Key Stage 3 classes and was able to have a look at some of the students work in the books alongside Vics, the Key Stage Lead.
We recently carried out training with some of SLT within school, which has enabled us to keep up to date with how things are running in school, and how we can be the most effective Governors for the young people and other stakeholders within school.
Hilary and Vicki have also attended training on the RSHE curriculum this half term, and are looking forward to being able to implement the things they have learnt alongside staff.
At our latest meeting, we received a very informative and comprehensive report from the student council. It was interesting for us to hear about all the work that they do, and the thoroughness with which they look at all the areas affecting student life.
The Governors would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at St George’s for all their hard work this year, and we wish staff, students and their families a safe and happy Christmas.
