Happy Easter!

Dear Students, Families, Staff and Governors

I cannot believe it is Easter already, let’s hope for better weather over the next two weeks so that you can get out and about with your young people.

Today, we say goodbye and good luck to Marion Hartley. Marion has worked at

St George’s School for 20 years. Marion was an LSA in the class I taught in when I first joined the school 14 years ago and she was very welcoming and supportive, she continues to be a very kind and considerate member of staff.

Marion has in recent years, developed the role of Work Experience Coordinator,

ensuring that our students have meaningful work placements and are offered the best opportunities and advice about careers and future possibilities. She has also been the leading force in our very close relationship with Vectis Radio, which has been a successful partnership over the years. Marion has also been involved in choreography for many of our dance performances both in school and external events, alongside this she is an excellent classroom practitioner. Thank you Marion for your longstanding commitment to St George’s, the students have been very lucky to experience the high quality support you offer. I am sure all students, families and staff join me in wishing Marion the best of luck in her well-earned retirement.

We also say goodbye to one of our students – Charlie is moving back to Hampshire to be closer to his family. Charlie joined us in February 2020 when the pandemic was at its height. We are so very proud of Charlie’s achievements and contributions to life at St George’s. Good luck Charlie and we shall all miss you.

Just a reminder that the public meeting regarding our potential expansion is on

5th April at the Studio School site in East Cowes. 10-11.30. Do come along to have a look at proposals if you can. I look forward to seeing some of you there.
