Dear Students, Families, Staff and Governors

We have been busy with lots of activities at school and in the community. Various groups of students have participated in UKSA sessions, a cricket event at the Ageas Bowl as well as Connor’s Memorial Football Tournament.

Students have also been very busy engaging in transition visits to the college and other post-school provisions in preparation for when they leave us and move on to their next chapter. Keri & Kirsty have worked hard to develop links with providers to ensure students are able to experience a range of options before making their final decisions about their next destination.

We have also welcomed some of our students who will be joining us in September. Over the next few weeks they will be joining us for a range of experiences. Transition is so important for our students and Bekky has worked incredibly hard this year to ensure that all students and their families joining us have a positive experience and a range of opportunities to visit school. We listened carefully to feedback from families last year and made changes to hopefully improve the experience for all involved.

The leadership team have been working on class lists for next year and we will share information with families, students and staff as soon as possible. We are currently undertaking an extensive recruitment drive to ensure as many positions are filled for September this is for the St George’s site and the new St George’s Studio in East Cowes. It is a very busy but exciting time.

I would like to introduce you to our newest recruit Rosie. She is 5 weeks old and will be joining us next half term. As Poppy is 9 next week and suffering from arthritis it is time for her to reduce her workload and have a slightly quieter life, although I am sure Rosie will keep her on her toes. Poppy will still be here but Rosie will gradually take on more responsibility – she has big paws to fill but I am confident that she is the right character to meet our expectations.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
