Message to Families and Students from the Headteacher
Dear families, We are now in the throws of a third national lockdown and the direction from the Government that special schools should remain open to students unless it is their parent’s choice to support education from home. School is open to a reduced number of students and alongside this in school provision, teaching and support staff are teaching online and supporting home learning.
Classes in all key stages in school are are organised into individual ‘bubbles’ and will stay that way for the entire time they are in school. There is no mixing of bubbles at all. Work is being sent to all students at home via the best possible method that suits the students and the family following discussion and adaptation. We are always here to support you so please don’t hesitate to contact school if there is anything in relation to your child’s education that we can help you with.
In the community of St George’s School everyone is considered as an individual and is valued equally. Everyone is made to feel welcome and has a voice.
Our school is a safe place to achieve, have fun and to develop skills towards individual, informed paths as we leave school and move forward in life. We learn to make choices for now and the future and to become as independent and self-sufficient as possible taking our place in society as part of Modern Britain.
We do our personal best and celebrate our achievements however large or small. As a team we experience the world and work towards achieving our goals and dreams and being the best we can be.
High standards are achieved through high expectations, robust target setting and high attendance
Staff, students and stakeholders alike treat each other with tolerance, compassion and respect.
