The Careers Team
Being an Education establishment, we follow the Gatsby Benchmarks. These 8 Benchmarks are the foundation of our Careers and Aspirations Programme. Our provision is inspected and audited by the Careers and Enterprise Company using the Compass + Benchmark Tool which is specifically designed to support the analysis and evaluation of careers activity for Special Schools.
Throughout their time at St George’s, our students are taught the skills and attitudes required to enable them to become as independent as they can be and to prepare for adulthood. We aim to provide an enriched and stimulating curriculum, closely matched to individual need to provide our students with every opportunity to reach their full potential regardless of their gender, race, learning disability or physical disability.
The Careers Team coordinate a fantastic variety of activities, visits and events tailored specifically for the needs and interests of each student. These include; lessons and workshops integrated into the curriculum, guest speakers, work experience and supported internship schemes, external and virtual workplace visits, mock interviews with local employers, external provider talks, Careers Fairs, Moving on Evening and Apprenticeship/Traineeship workshops.
