The View

We are very proud of our new 6th Form provision which was available to students from September 2021. Five 6th Form Classes are now situated within their own grounds at the top of the school drive adjacent to the main building.

Students enter the 6th Form in Y12 and can stay until the end of Y14 if they wish.
It is here that preparation for life really accelerates and progresses.

Students can choose options according to their needs and interests; we offer a range of academic subjects up to Level 2 Functional Skills (GCSE 9-4 equivalent). In addition, there are courses, which focus on developing independence skills and vocational subjects linked to the world of work. Examples of courses available are: Hairdressing and Beauty, Construction, Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Horticulture, Performing Arts, Animal Care, Hospitality, Sports Leaders and Environmental Science.

Students have their own common room to use during their breaks and lunchtimes and their own dedicated outside areas featuring some lovely seating, which gives them an opportunity to mix with their peers. 

There are many opportunities for our young people moving on from St George’s. We have had ex-students move into the world of work and on to the Isle of Wight College, Way Forward Programme, Haylands Farm to name just a few.

We believe that the time spent here equips your young people to be the best version of themselves as they move onto the next stage of their lives.
