Thanks to the wonderful support of our school community, our courtyard garden project is off to a great start.
Earlier this term, we reached out for help with transforming our outdoor space into a calming, green space for students and staff to enjoy. The response was heart-warming. Several generous families donated money and plants to get us going, and we’d like to say a very special thank you to Alan from the plant stall on Palance Road in Northwood. Alan kindly donated many plants — including all the beautiful native hedging varieties, that can be seen in the raised bed under the window, as well as nearly all the pots we’ve used so far.
Our students have loved getting stuck into the project, from digging and planting to arranging pots and learning about the different types of plants. It’s been a great opportunity to work together and take pride in creating something that will grow and flourish over time.
This is just the beginning of a long-term project that we hope will continue to develop and thrive in the years to come. We’re excited to share our progress with you and to show how far we’ve come.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Alan, a wonderfully generous and knowledgeable local grower who has kindly donated a fantastic selection of pots and plants to help kickstart our courtyard garden project.
Alan runs his own plant stall on Pallance Road in Northwood, with convenient parking available at the front. His stall is brimming with perennials, hedging plants, vegetables, bedding plants, and a wide variety of blooms that attract pollinators. Alan also dedicates part of his stall selling sunflowers to raise money for the Mountbatten Hospice.
Thanks to Alan’s incredibly generous donation, we were able to save hundreds of pounds and get our courtyard garden project off to a brilliant start. Beyond his generosity, Alan is simply a lovely person with a wealth of gardening advice he’s happy to share.
If you’re passing through Northwood, do stop by his stall, support a good cause and take home a little bit of green happiness.
