My name is Sarah Drake. I have been part of St. George’s for 4 years as an IT Technician. I have set myself a goal which is the Cancer Research “Race for Life 10K” on the 30th June 2024.
I am running for everyone that has been affected by cancer in any way. It is a horrible experience that I do not want anyone else to go through. It takes away lives, and the precious time that we have with loved ones.
I am a complete beginner in running, but that won’t stop me from doing 10k, as your support and donations light a fire inside to strive to achieve this challenge and show that people can do hard things. This has encouraged me to get healthier and be more active. I am looking for a goal of £50 for this run, but anything more would be absolutely amazing!
I will be updating the Fundraising page as I complete training runs via Strava so you will see the progress that I am making to get towards the target for the big day. It is something I never imagined doing but feel any support I can give towards research for this awful disease that affects so many is worth it.
