Careers Information Education and Guidance at St George’s.

At St. George’s, we have a strong and stable careers programme, which is led by the interests and aspirations of students in regards to developing life skills, gaining independence, making choices, future learning and gaining employment, with a strong emphasis on vocational learning.

Students are given access to visits, workshops and careers talks, which help them to become familiar with the World of Work and to broaden their knowledge around the opportunities available to them.

Further opportunities are provided, as students move through Key Stages 4 and 5, about the different pathways available to them through events such as our Moving on Evening and Careers Week open morning. Work experience, supported internships and other opportunities are given such as the chance to participate in taster sessions and mock interviews.

There is also a wealth of information about Post 16 providers, including the Isle of Wight College, Way Forward, HTP College and our own 6th Form at St George’s.

Further information around our offer for students, parents and carers, and employers can be found by visiting our website www.stgeorges-school.co.uk  under Career Guidance.
