Celebrating Student Art Exhibitions

Sunday 5th October was a busy one for our students at St George’s. Firstly, we have two students exhibiting at Quay Arts as part of the Brave Island Young Island Artist of the Year competition. Eben Taylor 4LM and Ayden Robertson 4KM were selected for the exhibition amongst a hugely strong field of young local artists from 14-25 years of age. You can see Eben and Ayden’s artwork in the Brave Island exhibition in the Claydon gallery for the rest of October.

More examples of Eben and Ayden’s work were on display, with around forty other St George’s students’ pieces, at Appley Tower near Ryde on the same day. Our students made up more than half of the total entries into the art competition to create a picture of Appley Tower and its surroundings. It was also great to see so many of our students at the tower for the exhibition.

Andrew Colley won first prize amongst our entries with Jude Dennis coming second and Valerie Adamski taking third place. We hope that Graham Biss from Island Natural Enterprises will pop into school next week to present the winners with their prizes. Well done to everyone who took part, your work really did make for a fabulous exhibition, as our photos show.
