Welcome back to St George’s for the second half of the Autumn Term. I hope you remained safe during some of the worst weather the Isle of Wight has experienced for many years. I am sorry to hear that some families homes have been effected by the floodwaters.
On Monday, our teaching staff were busy working on curriculum action plans for school improvement. On Thursday, it was lovely to see so many families attend our ‘Moving On’ afternoon at The View. Rehearsals for Dance Live are also underway and going well.
One of our staff slipped on some leaves this week after a hailstorm and took a nasty bump to the head. Please take care when visiting the school site. We try our best to keep the site clear of hazards but with all the wind and rain, it is a challenge. Luckily, our teacher has been checked out at the hospital and is ok.
I had a meeting at the college this morning and came across a number of our
ex-students, which was lovely. They all seemed so mature and settled in the college environment, which made me feel very proud of them and pleased that St George’s has been part of their journey. We really are lucky to work with such wonderful young people every day.
Tomorrow night is our charity Stars in their Eyes event to raise money towards a school minibus. I am really looking forward to it and hope to see some of you there.
