Newsletter 19th June 2026

Dear Students, Families, Staff and Governors,

It was lovely to see so many of you at Sports Day this week, we were lucky with the
weather. Our PE team did a fantastic job of organising the day with lots of inclusive
activities in the morning and then the competitive elements in the afternoon. It was a
pleasure to see students, across both sites, participating and really enjoying the day.
Thanks to the sports leaders who helped organise and to our volunteer from IW College
who happens to be an ex-student. Thanks to all staff involved in all aspects of the day, it
really is a team effort.

Last week Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 took part in a cricket festival at NewClose, this
was well attended and the students had a great day. Again, thanks to PE for organising.
Unfortunately, the overnight camping element of our Key Stage 5 residential had to be
cancelled due to the poor weather. However, the students enjoyed the trip to Marvell Zoo
followed by a barbecue to return to in the morning for breakfast and then a day of
adventure at Corf Camp. A good time was had by all.

Next week we say goodbye to our leavers with a barbecue during the day on Thursday,
followed by Achievers Evening. The Prom is then on Friday.

For any of you going to the festival this weekend, have fun and stay safe. Don’t forget we
have a development day on Monday for teaching staff so all students will return on
Tuesday the 23rd please.
