On Sunday 5th June, Zoe Divers and Claire Cobb (both staff members in 8A) were performing in London for the Royal Family. They were part of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant which was a parade around London to celebrate 70 years of the Queen’s reign. As part of Shademakers UK, an Isle of Wight based carnival and performance company, they joined nearly 10,000 other people from all over Britain to entertain the crowds, celebrities and the Royal Family. The section they were involved in was called The Queen’s Beasts and included pigs, sheep, falcons, a peacock, a snake, chickens, and lions. Zoe was a dragon and Claire was a unicorn.
Zoe said “I had the most wonderful time and it was so exciting to see all the people having so much fun”. Claire said “There were so many people watching and it was absolutely amazing. It was an honour to be involved in this event.”
