Dear Students, Families, Staff and Governors
I hope you all had a lovely break over Easter.
We have had lots of work done at school over the break including the addition of our new outdoor musical instruments, which look lovely and are fully accessible for all students. The outdoor environment is beginning to look lovely with the grass cut and the athletics tracks marked out on the field. It finally feels like summer is on its way. Some of the work that takes place when students are not here is not always visible, so a big thank you to our site team who keep the school and grounds well maintained.
Students have already been very busy this week with our UKSA sessions and our ongoing community / voluntary activities. We also have a focus this term on improving our ‘Dragon’ area, students have already been outside working on this. Some of our students have also contributed to an Art exhibition organised through PEACH called Connect at The Quay Arts Centre, please do go along and have a look if you can. Next Tuesday, we have a recruitment event, which has been organised to promote opportunities at both our main site and our potential satellite school in East Cowes. The public consultation period ends today, so we should find out soon if the proposal intends to go ahead.
Our event at the Studio School site was well attended by local residents, St George’s staff, parents/carers and their families. It all felt very positive, so I am optimistic regarding the outcome.
