Deodorant Aerosols

Recently we asked that students do not use deodorant aerosols in school due to the impact that this potentially has on people with respiratory issues, we have students and staff who suffer with a range of breathing conditions. Whilst we are pleased that students are aware of their personal hygiene, the use of aerosols continues to be an issue. Our students are encouraged to use their deodorant outside whenever possible.

Below is a link to a BBC article involving a young person diagnosed with ASC who sadly passed away due to their excessive use of aerosols. I have included it in the newsletter for your information but I would warn you that the content is shocking but relevant. School staff will continue to support students to use their deodorant appropriately and in moderation and we appreciate the support from families to do the same.
