We have been working with a greengrocer local to the West Wight who would like to support families genuinely in need, living in the West Wight with the opportunity of a fruit / vegetable box for £1.
This scheme is based on helping families with the supply of fresh fruit or vegetables on presentation of a voucher (issued by the connect4communities team) and £1. We will be supplied with a small number of vouchers each month and, dependent on the number of families we have interested in the scheme would pick a couple at random to be sent a voucher. The vouchers issued to us will cover households with families, as well as pensioners and single occupancy households and will receive a few of each for distribution. Vouchers can be taken to the shop, or the greengrocer is happy to deliver to those unable to travel.
