Last Friday 3VN enjoyed their outdoor learning day. We developed a range of skills linked to our skills builders as well as our school values. We enjoyed a wide range of activities including making our own hedgehogs, clearing space in our Dragon area and finding and naming different plants.
Perseverance: Students were able to demonstrate this skill by taking on challenges such as building dens. They were able to problem solve using teamwork and think outside the box.
Independence: We spent time creating our own arts and crafts using natural materials, each unique in their own way. We then shared our creations with others and gave feedback.
Aspiration: During the day we tried a range of new activities we had not tried before, we practiced our Aiming High skill and gave everything our best effort, even those activities we found difficult.

Respect: We were able to demonstrate this value in a range of ways, mainly by respecting the outdoor space around us. We made sure we left the outdoor area exactly as we found it. We are lucky enough to have a range of wild animals living in Dragon (we even saw a rabbit) and ensured that we left their homes and habitats and worked around them. We also showed respect to each other by working as a team and valuing each other’s ideas.
