On the 19th March, the Travel and Tourism group went to Yarmouth Harbour. As a treat, Spencer gave us a ride on one of the water-taxis for about half an hour, taking us on a tour around the harbour.
On the boat, we saw all different types of yachts and vessels made from wood, fibreglass and metal as well as one that was used for wind turbines. We sailed under the Yarmouth Bridge and even up to the Wightlink ferry and lifeboat.
We saw all the different docking stations they have and learnt how the colours indicate where people should dock their boats. Brian and Spencer were the people that showed us around and gave us the information from the boat.
They also told us about the seahorses that they have in one of the areas, and the birds that fly around like the cormorants. We liked the two water lodges where you can also book a 3-night stay. It was a lot of fun and an amazing experience to be able to ride of one of the water- taxis.
Thank you to both Brian and Spencer for giving us the opportunity to travel on the water.
